Lock broken
Unknown miscreants broke the lock of a high rise building at Lummawrie, Laitumkhrah which was sealed following the order of the High Court of Meghalaya. The incident happened the night of July 29.  The building belongs to one Audrey Nongrum. Police, however said that nobody entered the building.
Extortion
An Officer of District Commerce & Industries Center, Williamnagar lodged a complaint that since June 12 she has been receiving repeated phone calls and messages from an unidentified person, demanding money from her besides threatening her with dire consequences.
Girl found unconscious
A 19-year-old girl from Mawlai Nongkwar, Shillong was found lying unconscious at 5th Mile, Upper Shillong on Saturday. She was later admitted to Civil Hospital.
Fraud
I Majaw, Additional Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills lodged a complaint that on July 29, one Niranjan Gupta of Lama Villa, Shillong submitted a fake birth certificate at DC Office, East Khasi Hills.
