SHILLONG: The war of words continues between BJP leader Nalin Kohli and AICC spokesperson Gaurav Gogoi with the latter on Saturday posing three questions to the former.
“I have three simple questions for the BJP spokesperson and Meghalaya in-charge Nalin Kohli. Can he promise that his party’s gau rakshaks will never attack people of Meghalaya over their food and livelihood choices,” Gogoi asked.
The second question was whether Kohli can ensure that the “Hindutva-sponsored violence will never disturb the peace and tranquility of Meghalaya”.
“Does he know the impact PM Modi’s economic policies, which have led to low job creation in the last eight years, on the people of Meghalaya” was the third question.
Gogoi said he looks forward to the answers because the people of Meghalaya deserve to know the truth.
The Congress leader said Kohli had debated with him on television many times.
“While I have enjoyed these debates, I am amused to find the BJP spokesperson making personal remarks whenever the party and its leaders are rattled,” Gogoi said.
According to Gogoi, if Kohli wants to run away from a debate, it is his personal choice. “I am from northeast India and therefore I am more concerned about Meghalaya than he may be,” Gogoi said.
It was first Kohli who wanted to have a debate with Chief Minister Mukul Sangma on issues related to the development of Meghalaya. Later, Gogoi said he was ready to take on Kohli, which had come under criticism as the BJP leader said Sangma is trying to outsource his task to Gogoi.
