SHILLONG: The Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) has convened two meetings in Tura, West Garo Hills on Tuesday, wherein the party has elected office bearers.
In a statement, State LJP president, Jamil Ahmed informed that the meeting were organised in the Selsella constituency in
West Garo Hills, where the party candidate Arelitha K Sangma will contest from, for the 2018 Assembly election.
More than 500 members have joined LJP in the presence of Ahmed, taking the toll of members to about 2000.
In the meeting, office bearers were also elected as such Withnar Ch Marak as District Committee president, party youth president is Hadisul Islam and women wing president is Helena Sangma. The constituency committee president is Phiterson Ch Marak.
