SHILLONG: Independent MDC from Mawlai, PT Sawkmie has condemned the statement of right wing Hindutva group, Hindu Jagran Manch directing Christian schools in Uttar Pradesh not to celebrate Christmas as it may lure students to Christianity.
Speaking to media persons here on Friday, Sawkmie, while condemning the move, said action should be taken against such groups.
He said apart from such directives, a Christmas carol group was also attacked in Madhya Pradesh. Meanwhile, the MDC said desertions of senior leaders from the Congress would not affect the party which is hoping to win most of the seats in the election. He also expressed confidence that he would win the election from Mawlai constituency.
