SHILLONG: The Shillong City unit of the Hynniewtrep Youths’ Council (HYC) during an inspection conducted under the ‘Sier Lapalang Operation’ on Monday found out that labourers working at the Windermere Resort in Umpling do not possess required documents and labour licenses.
During the inspection, the leaders of Dorbar shnong, Umpling and Rynjah police personnel found that there were 10 migrant workers who did not possess the valid documents.
It may also be mentioned that Windermere Resort is owned by MLA Charles Pyngrope and his son David Nongrum.
The HYC members informed Pyngrope of the incident who in turn urged them to give him a week’s time to solve the matter.
