JHADC gets first woman dy chairperson

JOWAI: The lone lady MDC from Khliehriat, Violet Lyngdoh, was elected unopposed as the new deputy chairperson of the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council in a special session held here on Tuesday.
Lyngdoh created history in the JHADC being the first woman member of the House to be elected to the post.
The session lasted only for 30 minutes and during the felicitation, the CEM, MB Rymbai, lauded Lyngdoh for being the lone woman representative in the council.
He wished her to come back as the elected member after the JHADC polls.
Members Moonlight Pariat, Hollando Lamin and others congratulated her on her elevation to the post of deputy chairperson.
