Traffic arrangement for KHADC and JHADC polls

The Superintendent of Police (Traffic), East Khasi Hills informed that in view of the ensuing elections to the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council on February 27 from 7 am to 4 pm and considering the flow of vehicles deputed for election duty to Polo Ground and JN Stadium for return of police personnel and EVMs after the close of poll, the following roads have been declared as No Entry Zone on this day from 5pm onwards:

 Vehicles coming from Polo Towers towards Polo will not be allowed to go towards CRPF junction. They have to either go towards Lawmali or 4th Furlong.

lNo Entry towards Polo Bazaar for vehicles coming from CS Junction.

 No Entry for vehicles coming from Rynjah, New Colony towards 4th Furlong. They will have to go towards Lailad Langkyrding, Nongmensong.

 Forest Colony towards CRPF junction, Polo will be No Entry. Vehicles will have to go towards Mawroh junction.
l Vehicles from Polo area will not be allowed to go towards Golf Link.

No Entry at Velco School; rear gate of JN Stadium towards Velco School will function as One Way. Entire stretch of Velco School road is declared as No Parking Zone. Violators will be heavily fined.

Starting from Polo junction towards 4th Furlong – JN Stadium Rear Gate (5th Furlong) – NEEPCO – MES Junction – Lailad Junction (Nongmensong) – Shyiap – Golf Link Junction – Golf Club – CRPF junction and back to Polo shall function as RING ROAD to ease traffic congestion at Polo Point and 4th Furlong and to facilitate movement of personnel and vehicles deputed for poll duty.
In view of the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) polls, the the SP (Traffic), Lakador Syiem has made specific traffic arrangement for the polling day and also on March 2. No entry Zone has been declared from 3 pm onwards.

 There will be no entry from Wah Nangbah Junction except for polling vehicles carrying EVM to proceed towards Nongbah Stand.Polling vehicles coming from New Hill will be allowed to stop at Nongbah Stand but will have to leave as soon as the EVM machine is carried to the strong room and parked at Ummulong stand, Stand War or Jrisalein Playground.

Vehicles coming from Chutwakhu and Mission Compound areas will not be allowed to enter DC point. Vehicles will be diverted from Jrisalein towards District Library and Stand War, only the polling vehicles will be allowed to pass towards DC point.

 All vehicles coming from stand War will have to go through DC bypass towards Wah Nangbah Junction. The polling vehicles from War side area will stop near JHADC but as soon as the EVM is carried to strong room the vehicles will have to move towards Jrisalein Ground or Stand War through District Library.

 There will be no Entry at Sein Raij Parking Lot, vehicles will not be allowed to enter Iawmusiang through this Junction except for the polling vehicles
l Vehicles of Zonal and Sector Officers Civil and Police will be allowed to pass through Wah Nangbah Junction to DC area and vice versa but vehicles will not be allowed to park at Nongbah Stand. All Polling vehicles can park at Stand War, Ummulong Stand or Jrisalein Playground.
