Workshop-cum-training event in Ampati

AMPATI: A district-level workshop-cum-training programme for trainers on the 7th Economic Census (EC) was held at Ampati Multi Facility Centre on Monday.
The workshop, organised under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme implementation by the Common Services Centre (CSC), Ampati, aimed at familiarising enumerators with the proposed action plan under the 7th EC, data collection and verification module.
The day-long workshop shed light deliberated on the action plan and concepts definitions of the 7th EC.
District Statistical Officer Patricia Watre informed that the 7th Economic Census was being conducted to provide integrated information on various operational and structural aspects of all establishments in the country.
A comprehensive training strategy has been evolved to impart training to trainers in this census she added.
Speaking on the important aspects of the ensuing census, she said that the 7th EC will operate via mobile app and that there will be two rounds of supervision to ensure quality data as per the CSC team.
The ministry also introduced geo-tagging which will help to find out the distribution of economic activity in the state as a whole.
It may be mentioned that the 7th EC is unique in the sense that the survey is conducted with the help of a mobile app which results in limiting the wastage of paper, she said.
