Group opposes trade by non-tribals

SHILLONG: The All Khasi Hills A’chiks’ Federation (AKHAF) has urged the Syiem and the headman of every village to not issue No Objection Certificate (NOC) to non-tribals for trading license.
In a statement issued here, the president of AKHAF, Clavstar Marak, in June stated that the Mawkyrwat Deputy Commissioner has been warned to stop all non-tribal exporters or traders from doing business in South West Khasi Hills.
