Fire causes massive damage to Baridua storehouse

Nongpoh: In an unfortunate incident, a storehouse located at Baridua village in Ri Bhoi District caught fire in the early hours on Sunday.
According to sources, the fire started around 3am and caused massive damage to the items stored inside.
The exact cause of the fire was not known and the estimated property damage has amounted to more than Rs 1 crore. However, the timely arrival of firefighters which involved 15 vehicles from Assam and 2 from Meghalaya prevented the fire from spreading to nearby houses. No casualties were reported.
