SHILLONG: RTI activists from Mawkhan Pasir have alleged that on Sunday three miscreants assaulted the Rangbah Dong of the village, Seiborlang Langstieh, following an RTI filed on the implementation of 100 days scheme in the village.
Speaking to media persons, Tricolor Kurkalang said that the miscreants went to his house but he was not present at home. Later they went to the houses of other activists and created ruckus by shouting at them.
“We suspect that it is related to the RTI filed regarding the 100 days scheme regarding which we have already informed the Deputy Commissioner on the misuse of Rs 32 lakh,” he said.
The three miscreants were arrested on Sunday night but Langstieh has filed an FIR in Mawngap Police Station.
Another member, Moses Kharsati, said the attack on one of the persons who filed the RTI has raised questions on their safety and security.
