Police bust contraband cache in city

SHILLONG, Sep 9: After receiving information that a woman had recently received a consignment of suspected narcotics, the Anti-Narcotic Task Force (ANTF), East Khasi Hills, along with police personnel form Rynjah Police Station searched the residence of the suspect at Lapalang and recovered 8.471 kg of Yaba tablets worth Rs 1.8 crore in the international market.
It has been ascertained that the Yaba tablets were trafficked from Myanmar to be smuggled across the border to Bangladesh. Moreover, with the lead from the accused, two more suspects were arrested.
