W Nongsiej to become first DC of 12th district

SHILLONG, Nov 8: Secretary to District Council Affairs and Prisons department, Wilfred Nongsiej, is set to become the first Deputy Commissioner of the Eastern West Khasi Hills district, which will be inaugurated on Wednesday.
A notification issued by the Personnel & AR (A) department said that Additional Deputy Commissioner in charge of Mairang (Civil) Subdivision, Alertson Nongbri, will function as Additional Deputy Commissioner of Eastern West Khasi Hills with effect from November 10.
According to the notification, Extra Assistant Commissioner, Mairang (Civil) Subdivision, V Swer, will be in charge of Eastern West Khasi Hills as the Extra Assistant Commissioner with effect from November 10.
Felicitation
Meanwhile, as part of the celebration to mark the inauguration of the new district, Mawthadraishan Youth Development and Upliftment Society along with the local MLA HB Nongsiej has decided to felicitate meritorious students who have cleared their SSLC, HSSLC and various university examinations this year.
The felicitation programme will be held at the football ground, Kynshi Pyllun (Madan Umsoit) at 5 PM on Wednesday.
After the programme, there will be a concert wherein ‘Snow White’ band among others will perform.
