AJCA, EJCA claim U-15 victories

Shillong, Dec 23: All Jaintia Cricket Association cruised to a 38-run victory against East Khasi Hills in the U-15 Inter District Tournament today, while Ri-Bhoi fell just short, by five runs, versus East Jaintia Cricket Association. Both Zone 1 matches were held at Nongkhrah, Nongpoh, Ri-Bhoi.
AJCA were made to bat first after losing the toss and ended on 107 all out in their 20 overs. Heiyoomiki Ryngkhlem top-scored with 27, while Dameiaidap Wahlang bagged 3/12.
In the chase man-of-the-match Eshan Siangshai claimed 3/19 for AJCA, who restricted EKH District Cricket Association to 69/9.
The other match was a much closer affair between EJCA and Ri-Bhoi District Cricket Association.
EJCA won the toss and chose to bat first and Shan Tamang’s 38 not out in the middle of the order got the team to 131/8. Sanjay Sapkota took 5/17 with the ball.
Soojal Roy was the mainstay for Ri-Bhoi, with his 43 from 38 deliveries, but the team could not find the necessary runs to claim victory, ending their 20 overs on 126/7. Vinit Patel, who took 2/19 and made a rapid 20 from 13 balls for East Jaintia, was declared Player-of-the-Match.
