BSF shoots down drone, recover RDX, arms, ammunition on Pakistan border in Punjab

Guwahati, Feb 9: The Border Security Force (BSF) personnel deployed Panjgrain area under Gurdashpur Sector in Punjab heard buzzing sound of suspected flying object coming from Pakistan side to India side very early morning today.

Alert BSF troops subsequently fired upon the drone. During the subsequent search in village Ghaggar and Singhoke by the BSF troops along with a trained dog recovered two yellow colour packets containing with suspected contraband items including arms, ammunition, explosives and other items.

Detailed list of items recovered, as per a statement issued by the BSF are:

CONTAINER 01 –

  1. Nylon thread- 02 rolls (approximately 50 mtr each)
  2. Timer – 1 hr 05 min
  3. Detonator electric- 03 (01 copper and 02 aluminium)
  4. Commercial Cordex – 06 Nos (3 inch each for booster effect)
  5. Polarised cells- 02
  6. Plastic Pipe- 5” length and 1/2” diameter (for fuse purpose)
  7. Magazine- 01
  8. Ammunition rounds – 09
  9. Explosive quantity- 2.640 kg RDX (Black Colour)
  10. 3 Steel Container (01 outer, 01 middle, 01 inner)
  11. Cycle ball for splinter- 1.4 kg
  12. Indian currency- 1 lakh (50 notes of Rs 2000 each)
  13. Packing foam- 01 (round shape- to hold explosive over container)
  14. Cello tape yellow colour for wrapping
  15. Wooden frame (15cm x 10cm)

 

CONTAINER 02 –

  1. Pistol- 01 (Chinese made)
  2. Pistol Magazine- 01
  3. Ammunition rounds- 13
  4. Timer- 1 hr 05 min
  5. Explosive- 2.110 kg RDX
  6. Commercial Cordex – 06 Nos (inch each for booster effect)
  7. Detonator electric- 03 (01 copper and 02 aluminium)
  8. 3 Steel Container (01 outer, 01 middle, 01 inner)
  9. Polarised cells- 02
  10. Packing foam- 01 (round shape- to hold explosive over container)
  11. Cello tape yellow colour for wrapping
  12. Wooden frame- (15cm x 10cm)
  13. Cycle Ball- 1.120 kg
