Programme
Geetali, a Laban-based socio-cultural organisation, on Saturday organised a programme to formally introduce the patrons of the club to its members. According to statement, as part of the programme, which was attended by was Cabinet Minister Sanbor Shullai, patrons of the Club — Naba Bhattacharjee, Bidhur Das, Kamanamay Deb, Sajal Dhar, Aparajit Choudhary, et al — were felicitated. Songs were also performed during the programme.

Work order
The Public Works department (PWD) will issue the work order for the improvement of roads in Jowai within 15 to 20 days and the works would start only after the rains have subsided. An official informed that the road improvement work in Jowai will be taken up under the World Bank project for an estimate amount of around Rs 25 crore. Around 32 km of roads in Jowai will be renovated under the World Bank project.
