Baby found abandoned in WKH village

NONGSTOIN, July 18: A baby was found abandoned by the roadside at Keinlangsaw near Umkrem village, West Khasi Hills, recently.
According to sources, a local cabbie identified as Dibarles Nongphud of Langlew village had found the baby circa 8 pm on July 15 when he was en route from Nongshillong to Laitkseh.
He then took the baby to his home and then reported about the matter to Mairang Police and he local headman.
The baby, at the time of filing of this report, was under the supervision of the Child Welfare Committee and District Child Protection Unit, West Khasi Hills.
