WKH DC, Nongstoin MLA visit landslide victims’ residence

NONGSTOIN, June 25: West Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner Garod LSN Dykes along with the Nongstoin MLA Gabriel Wahlang have paid visit to the family that lost two children in a landslide that occurred recently at Mawiong Pyndengrei, Nongstoin.
During his visit to the family at Mawlangniang, the DC handed also over an ex gratia of Rs.8 lakh.
It may be mentioned that two minors, Cafinia Nongsiej (15) and Maianylla Nongsiej (11), were buried alive inside their residence on June 17 following a landslide triggered by heavy rainfall and flash flood.
