NIFT student drowns; body recovered after one day

SHILLONG, May 4: A swim turned tragic for a student of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), who drowned in a river below the suspension bridge along the David Scott trail at Mawphlang on Friday afternoon.
After an extensive search for a day, Search and Rescue Team (SRT) personnel on Saturday recovered his body.
The victim has been identified as Prabodh Brahma, who hails from Kokrajhar, Assam.
Sources informed that Brahma, along with his four friends, had gone trekking to David Scott trail.
