Train services restored in Lumding-Badarpur Hill section

Guwahati, Oct 18: Train services were restored in the Lumding-Badarpur Hill section on Friday morning hours after the derailment of Agartala-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express at Dibalong station under Lumding division on Thursday afternoon.

NF Railway had suspended running of several trains over the Lumding-Badarpur single line section following the derailment of the train in Lumding division.

“Train number 12503 (SMVT Bengaluru – Agartala) Express became the first train to pass through the accident affected section of Dibalong station at 9:48 am on Friday,” NF Railway sources informed.

The SMVT Bengaluru – Agartala) Humsafar Express, which commenced journey on Tuesday, was regulated accordingly.

Eight coaches, including the power car and engine, of the 12520 Agartala-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express, which had left for Agartala on Thursday morning, derailed at Dibalong station at 3.55pm. However, there were no casualties or major injuries reported.

After the derailment, services of the 05698 (Guwahati – New Jalpaiguri) Special; 05628 (Agartala – Guwahati) Summer Special and the 15611/15612 (Rangiya-Silchar-Rangiya) Express commencing journey on Thursday were cancelled.

Besides, the operation of 05697 (New Jalpaiguri – Guwahati) Special; 05627 (Guwahati – Agartala) Summer Special; 02525 (Kamakhya – Anand Vihar Terminal) Special and 15616/15615 (Silchar – Guwahati – Silchar) Express commencing journey on Friday was cancelled along with services of the 02526 (Anand Vihar Terminal – Kamakhya) Special train commencing journey on Sunday.
