Enterprise Facilitation centre inaugurated

 NONGSTOIN: The Enterprise Facilitation Centre (EFC), a Basin Development unit under Meghalaya Integrated Basin Development and Livelihood Programme was inaugurated on Friday by the Deputy Chief Minister Rowell Lyngdoh at Mawkyrwat Community and Rural Development Block Office in the presence of the Deputy Commissioner, South West Khasi Hills District A Mawlong IAS and host of Officers.

This Enterprise Facilitation Centre will be looked after by the Enterprise Resource Persons and the main objective of this centre is to help people with relevant information of various aspects.

While speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function held at C&RD Hall Mawkyrwat, the Deputy Chief Minister who is also in charge of Soil and Water Conservation Department etc, stated that the intention of the Government for setting up of the Enterprise Facilitation Centres in the State is to help people with advices and relevant information on how to set up self employments.

Rowell also expressed his hope that the presence of this EFC will open up the mind of the people of the area with a visionary of improving their day today life.

He also underlined that entrepreneurs require to run their industries with modern technology adding that this centre will be a place where entrepreneurs can come together to share their views and opinions with the experts.

He therefore, called upon the educated unemployed youth to come forward with positive mind set and avail this opportunity.

The Deputy Commissioner, A Mawlong IAS, who is also the chairman of the Meghalaya Integrated Basin Development and Livelihood Programme

under South West Khasi Hills District, stated that this Enterprise Facilitation Centre will bring a change in the life of the people of the area.

He also called upon officers of all line departments to work hard and take serious steps to fulfill the mission of the Meghalaya Integrated Basin Development and Livelihood Programme.

Moreover, he urged upon the people to extend their cooperation with the government for overall implementation of development projects and development schemes in the District.

Other who spoke at function included the BDO Mawkyrwat B Kharkongor, the Zonal Coordinator MBDA A.Suting and the Fishery Officer Mawkyrwat O Passah.
