‘Youth for Change’ prog in city today

SHILLONG: As part of the Youth for Change 2014 Campaign, the Partners of Pla Iew Club in collaboration with the Office of The Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District, is organizing a ‘Youth for Change: Health and Environmental IEC programme 2014’ under the Chief Minister Youth Development Scheme (CMYDS 2012-2013) at the Golf Links Community Hall, Pynthorumkhrah, on Friday from 11 am. Minister for Health and IT, A.L. Hek, will grace the programme as chief guest.

Karmo Narohna, Director, Bethany Society, will interact with the students on various environmental issues while Banjop Kharmawphlang from the National AIDS Control Organisation will be interacting with the students on adolescent health relating to alcoholism, substance abuse and HIV/ AIDS.

Extempore Speech, Open Quiz and Slogan Competition among the participating students will also be held followed by a magic show by local magician John Lanong.
