Angry truckers torch bridge in West Khasi Hills

NONGSTOIN: Angry truckers on Friday torched a wooden bridge after they were not prohibited to move the coal laden trucks through the bridge.Sources said the weak bridge at Risiang near Maweit in West Khasi Hills was set on fire at night after the truckers were stopped from transporting coal. The wooden bridge was damaged due to plying of trucks. The PWD had declared the bridge as weak and prohibited the movement of heavy vehicles.
